I don't know that we will have the luxury of fairness. This "game" is designed to turn us into an angry mob.

Alia is close with Alina. She's furious. Threatening to kill whoever did it.

I have believed division the goal since the bloody feast. This accelerates that aim.

[ she was already sick this morning, and she hasn’t eaten since, but her stomach churns and churns and churns. tim is too good for this. she has poisoned him the same as ser criston. ]

It would not be wise to bring my family into it unless Aemond is named. Let us wait.

I won't make any hasty accusations.

But if he has done it, it would be for the good of everyone, not just you, to see him locked up. Especially the victims.

[ He's been poisoned long before this. The stroke of the pen that turned Hawk's words into the end of Caroline's life as she knew it was his. Everyone who had been ruined by McCarthy's inquisition would be right to blame Tim, in some small part, for keeping that engine running. How many envelopes of faked evidence and blackmail has he delivered? How many hearings has he attended, passing out memos and filling up glasses of water, so that someone's life can be destroyed with perfect clarity? His only good deed in Washington had been a betrayal.

Politics is an ugly game, but he'll play it, for her as he's played it for Hawk, even as it burns at his soul. They're in Hell. It's only going to get hotter. ]

Rhaenyra was much loved by me, and Alina, too. I would answer their pain with justice.

Alina says her attacker was a man. Tall, she thinks.

What of Hawk’s suspect in Embry’s killing? Alina’s attack is not dissimilar in its brutality.

I don't know. Maybe, for some of them. Embry died before the "game", it feels like a red herring.

If our teams and roles hold any influence, it would stand to reason that the most unlikely could be suspects in this deadly game. Chosen not by their inclinations but by the Balfours themselves.

Lestat names Parisa a friend and claims that he wound not harm her. He would lay the blame upon a vampire of another world than his own, which hosts Louis, Armand, and Daniel — to my knowledge.

But Daniel himself told me to be wary of him.

[ and his warning supersedes Louis’ assurances, for now. she knows well what it is like to be blinded by love. ]

I am familiar with the type.

But there is another matter which bonds us that is not mine to share. On the basis on it, Lestat has promised to enquire after Parisa’s wounds and learn what he can of from his fellows.

[ if anyone could tell whether it’s a set-up on the body, it’s a vampire. whether he’ll be honest about his findings is still to be seen. ]

I do not think it him, in truth, at least in the case of Jacaerys. He was young and like to trust a comely girl more than any man.

I have had word from Lady Baela.

My husband’s bloodline has dragon dreams. Visions of what has past and will come. My daughter has seen much before it came to pass.

Baela claims she has seen or heard from Jacaerys somehow, and identified that the hair was blonde, not white or silver. And the form of the killer, lithe.

She used that power on me once. After the wolfman we wanted to see what else I might be immune to. It was completely overwhelming. I was a doll with no will of my own. And she isn't in control of it, not very well. She almost made me jump out the window on accident.

She could easily make someone walk into the lake, and they would think it was their own idea.

I don't want to vote until we've all found everything that we can. I want to be as informed as possible.

I have not decided myself, but the question must be asked. The accusation, levied.

You need only stand for what you believe to be right and true, Tim. I will accept whatever pain my stance brings me, as I always have, and we are running out of time.

I don't know what I believe. I believe she's the most able. That doesn't necessarily mean she would do this, but she might not be in control of that.

I'll pray for a breakthrough proving someone else. But if none come, I'll vote for her. To abstain wouldn't help anyone.
