Oh, no. No, I'm not really in the market. Although I did have someone inquire, I suppose. But I've made no plans.

My attention is very much on the beautiful man wearing my ring.

Honestly, a bit of an excuse. I really don't know him at all yet. And right this second I don't think it's a good idea to take on anything of that nature.

I should get a chain for certain circumstances, like cooking. So I'm still wearing it when I normally wouldn't.

That's fine. I'd want to plan it. That's not the kind of thing you can spring on me.

We're in a very untraditional kind of place.

True. I wonder if your time has different vows than mine.

Probably. Catholics don't like improvising, besides.

...maybe, given that we're both men, we'd have to improvise anyway.

We would. I wouldn't mind.

I haven't let myself think too hard about it, to be honest. Since I didn't know it was an option most of my life.

It's unthinkable.

But so much here is. Every day I wake to find I am living in some other culture. The ghost of my own is here - Jonty certainly has artifacts from my time, and things like afternoon tea still exist - but a ghost is all it is. So it is as if I am living amongst a different peoples.

That makes it easier, for me.

That makes sense.

It's different from my time, but not so much that it's completely foreign. But it's not about everyone else. It's spiritual. It's a sacrament. The Pope won't come around for a while, back in my time.
