Because watching him melt down publicly after everyone finds out he's been with Danny and deciding "I want that" tells me that the man most capable of blowing up the manor also has really bad judgment. That should concern everyone.

It's quite alright. I can't say that I'm thrilled to have my personal affairs public knowledge, but the house has seen to that quite thoroughly already anyway.
